Beatriz Oliveira graduated magna cum laude from the Dual Bachelor of Arts Program between Sciences Po Paris and Columbia University in New York in May 2022. At Sciences Po, Beatriz majored in Politics and Government and minored in Philosophy of Law. At Columbia, she majored in Human Rights and completed Columbia Business School’s Special Business Management concentration. Beatriz participated in a Practicum class at Columbia Law School where her team represented an individual sentenced to life in prison without parole. This work involved research into understanding the impact of international law and human rights into the US domestic legal system as well as an understanding of how a new human right to hope is developing within courtrooms.
Beatriz has interned at SAP’s Chief Trust Office where she conducted research on cybersecurity regulation for the health care and financial services industries worldwide. She was also a Business Development intern at Felsberg Advogados (Brazilian law firm). Beatriz has also spent time volunteering for different causes: in Porto, she spent a summer working at a Pediatric Palliative and Continuous Care Unit (O Kastelo), and periodically volunteered at a retirement home and at a homeless shelter.
Beatriz was born and raised in Porto, Portugal, and she enjoys reading at the beach, baking, and writing fiction. She joined Kostelanetz LLP in July 2022.
