Ashley Morales graduated summa cum laude from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs in May 2022. She minored in Latino Studies and Latin American studies. Her senior thesis, “Preserving Our Homes: An Analysis of the Mitchell-Lama Affordable Housing Program,” investigated the role of limited-equity co-ops in combatting New York City’s affordable housing crisis and received the Dean Hank Dobin Thesis Prize. Her fall junior paper analyzed foreign police assistance and human rights in El Salvador, while her spring junior paper explored solutions for advancing access to judicial institutions to combat gender-based violence in El Salvador. Morales also received the Mary W. George Research Conference Award for her first-year research on the African Court system.

Prior to joining the firm, Morales interned with Cristosal, a human rights NGO based in Central America, and she completed a comparative transitional justice research project that she further developed into a year-long course module connecting social justice activists around the world. In Summer 2021, Morales was chosen as a Princeton Scholars in the Nation’s Service Initiative (SINSI) fellowship award recipient and interned with the Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Voting Section.

At Princeton, Morales was heavily involved in the Pace Center for Civic Engagement, serving as a Student Volunteers Council executive board member, Service Focus senior fellow, Recognizing Inequities and Standing for Equality student facilitator, and Community Action fellow. Morales also served as team captain, co-recruitment chair, and co-tournament director of Princeton Mock Trial, participated in the Princeton United Nations Women Faith and Gender Justice Fellowship, and performed in Princeton Más Flow Latin dance company.

Ashley grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing to Latin music, reading historical nonfiction, and taking walks with friends. Ashley joined Kostelanetz LLP in 2022.
