Abby received her J.D. in 2022 from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Virginia Law Review and a finalist in the William Minor Lile Moot Court Competition. While in law school, Abby wrote a student note entitled “A Third Party Beneficiary Theory of Corporate Liability for Labor Violations in International Supply Chains,” which was published in the Virginia Law Review. During her summers, Abby interned at the Office of Enforcement Operations at the Department of Justice, the Environmental Law Institute, and the Office of the Legal Adviser at the Department of State. Abby participated in the Innocence Project clinic during her second year in law school and went on to lead a pro bono team in her third year. During that time, the team looked through old court records to investigate witnesses, conducted interviews with jurors, and prepared affidavits in support of a petition for release.

Abby received her B.A. in Social Studies from Harvard University in 2019. While in college, Abby participated in the Harvard College Project for Justice, a criminal justice reform advocacy group. Her senior thesis, “Inside the Black Box: A Study of Prosecutorial Power and Discretion in Indiana,” was based on interviews with prosecutors from over 30 counties in the state and earned a high honors distinction.
