On June 4, 2021, Caroline D. Ciraolo participates in a panel entitled “The Criminal Investigation Part 2: Meeting with the Government” at Quinnipiac University’s 4th Annual Criminal Tax Day. The Fourth Annual Criminal Tax Day is a conference that provides educational CPE/CLE sessions for CPAs, EAs, and attorneys on the hottest criminal tax topics.

Description: After hearing the government’s case, the taxpayer decides to accept responsibility and plead guilty.  A plea agreement is negotiated and signed, the taxpayer appears before the court, enters his plea, and is now preparing for sentencing.  This last session welcomes you into the courtroom to observe the sentencing, followed by a debrief meeting with defense counsel and the defendant to discuss the sentence imposed and what lays ahead.
